VISION
Support AT&T government affairs policy objectives by providing public affairs support for the Telecom Modernization reform at the Colorado legislature to help update outdated laws to reflect modern day issues to move Colorado forward. The bills would bring the state into the 21st century and would help pave the way for continued innovation across Colorado.
REALIZATION
After several years of public affairs education and mobilization efforts, a package of five bills aimed at updating the state’s telecom laws and spurring broadband development across Colorado was passed in 2014. This was the result of over four years of work collaborating with policymakers, the technology industry, the Public Utilities Commission, the Governor’s office, and businesses and organizations across the state.
Public affairs groundwork included strategy, messaging, talking points, public outreach with statewide media outlets such as the Associated Press, Denver Post, Denver Business Journal, Pueblo Chieftain, The Sentinel, The Gazette, Durango Herald, CO Public Radio and all major TV broadcast outlets and many others. It also included collaboration across the industry and with legislative stakeholders.
